Making An E-Book Part II

ebook

Yalu and the Puppy Room has been condensed into an e-book format that is currently under review with Amazon. The book is now to twenty-six pages with a picture on every page. I have formatted it into version that Amazon’s Kindle Textbook Creator will accept which was easier said than done.

When formatting a children’s book with pictures, upload a Word document, pictures and all. When the program is in the Kindle Textbook Creator, go to the upper right hand corer and select “package.” Save the document to the desktop and then head off to kdp.amazon.com, select new title, and fill out all the boxes that follow.

The cover must have 1000 length for pixils, that can be achieved by tweaking the picture in PhotoDraw in the save as option–that how I did it. It does take time to upload the cover (you can create a cover from scratch with Amazon) and the “package” you have saved to the desktop.

The price for Yalu And The Puppy Room will be $7.50 and was set up with 70% royalties. I chose 70% because the price of Yalu And The Puppy Room will be under $9.99 and I do not mind paying for the delivery of an electronic book–yes, there is a delivery cost for an electronic book. Royalties will be $3.84 per book. It will be available worldwide.

Below is an interesting YouTube.com video for those of you interested in publishing an e-book.
